Renato Paiva Novia
After making their relationship with Portuguese coach Renato Paiva official, the sports journalist Mariapaz Maldonado ‘alboroted’ Twitter. Paiva is remembered for his time as the former DT of Independiente del Valle in Ecuador.
Although there had already been rumours of a relationship between the two, she was in charge of making it official on her social media platforms. This sparked many reactions, with “abuelito” being the most often used one because many people said Renato was already a little bigger than Maldonado.
This situation seemed unimportant to the girlfriend of the coach and current head of Radio Diblu in Guayaquil since she dedicated a publication to her success in Brazil with the Esporte Bahia and stated: “We arrived in this city full of illusions.
You now have a competition, and I’m happy. Mereces everything; life will return what you have worked for.
This publication sparked a variety of responses, including confusion where the coach was accused of “infedility” due to other dedications Paiva had made on social media, including claims that he was still married.
Mariapaz made it clear that Renato had filed for divorce a few years prior.
Renato Paiva Career
Paiva, a Castelo Branco native from Pedrógo Pequeno, Sert, joined Benfica’s development programme in 2004 to serve in the club’s Development department and as the team’s assistant manager for the Juvenil B side. After being appointed to oversee the under-14s in 2006, he gained his first managing experience.
Paiva then continued to advance within Benfica’s hierarchy, eventually assuming control of the under-16s, under-17s, and under-19s. Bruno Lage was named LigaPro’s reserves manager in January 2019, following his hiring as the main team’s manager. The team defeated Académico de Viseu 4-0 in his first official match in charge on the 16th.
