Varan Bhat Loncha Movie Story

In his films, Mahesh Manjrekar is recognised for faithfully portraying the chawl culture of Mumbai. With his cult masterpiece Vaastav, he started doing it, and with Lalbaug Paral/City of Gold, he expanded it. His most recent picture, Nay Varan Bhat Loncha Kon Nay Konacha (NVBLKNK), is similarly promoted, raising the bar for what may be anticipated from it. I don’t believe I’ve ever felt so confused after watching a Mahesh Manjrekar film.

Teenage Digya (Prem Dharmadhikari) seeks retribution in the story of NVBLKNK. He likes hanging out with his closest buddy Iliyas (Varad Nagvekar), and he and his grandmother Baye (Chhaya Kadam) reside in a chawl. Digya has a difficult life because he is the offspring of a dead criminal.

Due to his circumstances, he must follow in his father’s footstep as soon as possible. All of this makes up the narrative of the movie. The concept of a retribution drama with a teenage protagonist that has so much blood, violence, and sexual content is interesting. Mahesh Manjrekar somehow fails to give the late Jayant Pawar’s narrative credit with his improbable execution.

I don’t understand why it was decided to show the detrimental impact on children leading to a terrible outcome, as opposed to what we saw in Antim/Mulshi Pattern, where the guy picks the better/ideal choice and fully transforms his life.

Well, the director decides what tale to tell and how to tell it till he is successful in making the story’s goals obvious. NVBLKNK effectively communicates the kind of people and lifestyles it exposes us to as well as the message it seeks to get through. The complicated thought that went into crafting the movie is its shortcoming.

The very profane language gives the film the appropriate feel while adding the required realism. It never seems unnecessary. Furthermore, we are not left wondering why the characters would employ such language. We look into some of them’s sexual intentions.

It’s hard to understand Digya and his aunt’s behavior, which involves some consenting physical contact. These are disturbing images because they are hard to understand. And why is there no older person to give the bewildered adolescents some common sense? Are the adults at NVBLKNK so heartless that they would make such hasty decisions that put the lives of youngsters in danger? All of this does not bring us happiness or contentment.

The attitude of the characters in the movie is similar to that of the characters in such series, who are illiterate and backward, as well as the overall production value of the movie, which looks inferior to any low budget regional TV series. The viewing experience is diminished by the film’s subpar aesthetics.

Impressive narrative structure emphasizes the first perception of an event’s outcome and the following course of events. Mahesh Manjrekar displays cruelty and gore without any restraint and skillfully offsets it with comedy so that the horrifying images don’t make us feel too uneasy.

Due to the performances of the adult performers, we continue to be interested in the film. Chhaya Kadam easily steals the audience with her powerful performance. She also enhances the hilarity with her lovely and recognised accent. Shashank Shende was my favourite guy in the photo because he allowed me to ignore everyone else. The remaining adult performers come out as more caricature-like due to the formulaic nature of the roles they play. Despite their good intentions, they are ineffective.

Varad Nagwekar and Prem Dharmadhikari come off as quite innocent. Instead of coming out as naturally as I had anticipated, they seem insecure and perhaps detract from the atmosphere.

In the gangster drama genre, NVBLKNK doesn’t stand out, which is what I was expecting for considering that Mahesh Manjrekar directed it. Because the entire narrative lacks realism, I can’t recommend the movie. There is some relief provided by the film, but it is brief. I wasn’t sure how I felt about the movie, thus it was difficult for me to form a final opinion. The movie didn’t particularly impress me, but I also didn’t find it to be all that great either.
